Biography

Jiankang Deng is currently an honorary lecturer at the Department of Computing, Imperial College London. He obtained his Ph.D. degree under the supervision of Prof. Stefanos Zafeiriou and was funded by the Imperial President's Ph.D. Scholarships. He has been working in the field of deep face analysis with a particular interest in building real-world working systems (e.g. InsightFace.ai and Facesoft.io).

Before coming to IBUG, he obtained his bachelor's and master's degrees from Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology. During his master's study, he was supervised by Prof. Qingshan Liu in the BDAT Lab and worked closely with Prof. Dacheng Tao. He won many visual perception challenges (e.g. ImageNet and ActivityNet) in the past years.
