Dr. Sebastian Kaltwang
Biography
Dr. Sebastian Kaltwang received the master's degree in computer science (German "Diplom-Informatik") from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany in 2011. Then he joined the Intelligent Behaviour Understanding Group (iBUG) at Imperial College London, where he received the PhD degree in 2015. Since then, he has been a Research Associate at the same institution, working on machine learning and computer vision for automated human non-verbal behaviour analysis. His expertise lies in the development of probabilistic graphical models and multiple kernel learning methods for recognition of subtle facial movements (facial action units) from video. Further research areas also include pain intensity estimation from facial expressions, implicit multimedia tagging and automated medical diagnosis.
