Dr. Konstantinos Bousmalis
Biography
I am a Ph.D. candidate at the Department of Computing, Imperial College London, as a member of the i•BUG group, and under Prof. Maja Pantic's supervision.
My research interests include Automatic Human (Social) Behavior Analysis, Machine Learning, Evolutionary Computation, Human-Computer Interaction.
The ultimate goal of my Ph.D. is a system that can (a)automatically detect behavioral cues that appear naturally during three social attitudes, namely agreement, disagreement, and interest, and (b)spot these attitudes in an audiovisual stream of spontaneous behaviour, based on the morphology and dynamics of these cues.
I am particularly interested in finding out what is the best way to model these multimodal dynamics either with existing or new computational models. I am currently working towards customizing Hidden Conditional Random Fields (HCRFs) for the automatic recognition of social attitudes.
