Biography

Christos Georgakis received his Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), Greece in 2011. During 2011-2012, he worked as a Research Assistant  at the CVSP Group, under the supervision of Prof. Petros Maragos. His research focused on video analysis and interpretation, with applications to human action recognition.

Currently, he is a Research Assistant/PhD student at the Department of Computing, Imperial College London, UK, working at the iBUG group under Prof. Maja Pantic's supervision. His current research interests include machine learning, computer vision and mathematical optimization, with particular focus on developing robust component analysis techniques for human face, affect and behavior modeling in still images and videos.
