Zixing Zhang is a research associate with the Department of Computing at the Imperial College London (ICL), UK, from 2017. Before that, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Passau (UP), Germany, from 2015 to 2017. He received his PhD degree in computer engineering from the Institute for Human-Machine Communication at Technical University of Munich (TUM), Germany, in 2015, and earned his master degree in physical electronics from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT), China, in 2010. He has authored about sixty publications in peer-reviewed books, journals, and conference proceedings to date. Dr Zhang serves as a reviewer for the journals IEEE T-NNLS, IEEE T-Cyber, IEEE T-AC, IEEE T-ASLP, T-MM, Speech Communication, Computer Speech & Language, and others. His research interests lie in various machine learning techniques, which aim to leverage the value of large-scale unlabelled data and environmentally distorted data for automatic speech analysis (e.g., emotion and speech recognition).
